The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Work in progress with Strike Theater Company to devise a multimedia adaptation of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

2016 Chances: The Firkin Crane, Cork, Ireland
Inma Pavon selected 5 performers and five composers. She chose me as a composer. She gave each an image to use as inspiration, and then paired a composer with a performer. Neither knew what the other had prepared until the performance. I composed a piece based on Chinese characters she had given me, titled “Chinese Poetry,” using viola played in a Chinese scale, and a synthesizer devised by tracing the character with a Wacom tablet, using x/y/z coordinates to control volume, tone, and timbre.


IV. WILLS: The Granary Theatre, Cork, Ireland
Directer, composer, media/interaction design, and concept for a multimedia performance exploring human motivation through music, technology, and dance. Structured in four parts based on four theorists of human will; Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Freud, and Frankl; and immersed within four walls of video and a quadraphonic audio system, IV WILLS explores the human condition and our relationships to each other, ourselves, and our environments.

The Ballad of Charlie and Cate: The Granary Theatre, Cork, Ireland
Video design for floor and backdrop projections for  Ed Malone’s multi-character epic play that charts the rise and fall of two working class Corkonian sisters Charlie and Cate Maloney.


Cork Audio Visual Ensemble (C.A.V.E)
Video work and performance as a founding member of the Cork Audio Visual Ensemble, a technology-based group consisting of between six to ten performers working to explore the musicality of technology through performance and computer processing, under the direction of UCC staff members Jeffrey Weeter and Derek Foott. Performed in the Cork Opera House’s Half Moon Theatre as part of FUIM and the Sculpture Factory as part of Sonic Vigil in Cork, Ireland, and in Old Athen’s Bourse as part of the ICMC in Athens, Greece.

Video projection design for play by Caryl Churchill, directed by Margaret Keohane, and performed and produced by UCC Dramat. Premiered December 2011 in Cork. Won Best Set and Best Ensemble in the Irish Student Drama Awards, Dublin, March 2012
